F2PMC Server-Wide Rulebook

Version 1.1.1 (02/12/2021)

All rules are created with this server’s mission in mind: to provide players with a safe, community-driven, free-to-play experience while encouraging players to give back to their communities.

Chat: The chat category covers all rules that use the chat bar to include the use of commands.

1. Spam & Caps:

   1. Reposting - Posting the same message back-to-back is not allowed. Posting a similar message that can be seen more than 2 times in one chat window is not allowed.

   2. Chat Timing - Posting any message 3 or more times with no other player chat in between is not allowed. Posting 3 or more messages in less than 5 seconds is not allowed.

   3. Countdowns - Countdowns are not allowed in any global server chat. Countdowns during a faction event using faction-only chat is allowed.

   4. Command Spam - Running commands such as /msg, /pay, /trade, or other commands which create a chat text line for players or cause the server to process data is considered spam if it is repeated 3 or more times in a row or falls under any other chat spam or player harassment rule.

   5. Excessive Caps - Sending or posting messages that largely use capital letters or posting multiple messages with an excess of capital letters is prohibited.

   6. Excessive Characters - Sending or posting messages that use excessive repeating or unintelligible characters is prohibited.

2. Language & Content: There are many types of inappropriate language and content that we prohibit to keep our players safe. The following are categories and examples of this type of prohibited content:

   1. Player Disrespect - Speaking poorly about/to/of or disrespecting a player in chat or otherwise will not be tolerated. This server is meant to be community-based and a safe place for all players to have fun! Players come from all sorts of backgrounds and parts of the world, so it is important to be respectful to each other’s cultures, backgrounds, religions, preferences, and ideologies.

   2. Staff Disrespect - If you have an issue with a staff member or have evidence of a staff member abusing power, please submit these matters to management. Saying things like “demote [staff member]” or “[staff member] is terrible” will not be tolerated. Even if a staff member is not behaving properly, please bring the issue up to management.

   3. Server Disrespect - Speaking overly poorly of the server is not allowed. We are always open to player input and welcome players to submit feedback to us! Please use the proper channels of communication to submit all concerns rather than openly slander the server in chat. Saying “man, I wish this server had X” in chat is not considered server disrespect, however as we do not wish to silence criticism and free speech.

   4. Graphic Content - Any textual or visual media that is considered 18+ in the United States is considered prohibited graphic content. This includes adult images or adult topics of any kind.

   5. Swearing - Swearing in any language is prohibited. We have players of all ages and want to make sure that all players have a safe environment to interact with other players.

3. Abuse & Threats:

   1. Blackmail - Blackmail of any player or staff member is strictly prohibited. Please submit all evidence of rule-breaking directly to a staff member, and staff will investigate the issue themselves.

   2. DOXXING/DOX Comedy - DOXXING means Posting IRL information or links containing IRL information of any player (including yourself). This is considered illegal depending on your geographical location and will be treated as a ban-able offense. This ban length will be on a case-by-case basis and will always be reviewed by Management. Please always use IGNs in public chat even if a player has shared their personal information with you.

   3. Promotion/Ideation of Harm - Promotion or ideation of harm or self-harm is strictly prohibited. This includes insinuations and text-speech like ‘kys’ or ‘kms’.

   4. Harassment - Verbal and Non-verbal harassment of any kind is prohibited. This specific rule type covers verbal harassment. See the gameplay section for verbal harassment rules.

4. Advertisement & Links:

   1. Unaffiliated Content - Sharing or advertising unaffiliated server IPs or links, IRL trading, and unaffiliated products or services are all strictly prohibited. Do not click on any links that are not affiliated with F2PMC and sent by an official account!

5. Bots:

   1. Bot Advertisement - Advertising your faction, skyblock, or other such location, group, or shop using a bot and/or macro is not allowed. This includes using an alt to advertise on a recurring basis.

Cheats: The cheats category covers all rules regarding breaking intended game mechanics or providing players with unfair advantages.

1. Clients & Hacks:

   1. Non-Vanilla Clients - All non-vanilla Minecraft clients are prohibited unless otherwise specified.

   2. Optifine - Optifine is the only non-vanilla Minecraft client allowed on this server. Zoom functionality, shaders, capes, and other Optifine features through the Optifine client are thus also allowed unless otherwise specified by a specific sub-server’s rules.

   3. Schematica - Schematica is generally allowed on all servers at this time. Exceptions will be in cases where player builds are entered into competitions or part of a minigame. See server-specific rules for further information.

   4. Hacking - Hacks to include (but not limited to) flying, kill-auras, and movement-enhancements are prohibited.

2. Autoclickers & Macros:

   1. Autoclicking - Autoclicking is prohibited. Autoclicking will be defined by the speed at which the player character is clicking or otherwise performing seemingly automated actions. Remapped keys with the use of F3+T is still authorized as it currently cannot be distinguished from faster forms of autoclicking.

   2. Macros - Using macros to perform actions faster that other players or in an automated way is prohibited. This includes (but is not limited to) using a macro to quickly empty a player inventory into a chest and automatically typing and/or sending scripted messages.

3. Exploits:

   1. Bug Exploits - All bugs should be reported as soon as they are found. Any bugged or exploited items, commands, permissions, etc must be immediately forfeited to a staff member. You will not be in trouble for finding a bug, only if you are found to have not reported it or found to be exploiting it.

   2. Game Mechanic Exploits - Exploiting game mechanics is prohibited. If something seems OP, then it is likely an exploit. This includes unintended game mechanics and unintended consequences of game mechanics.

4. Bots:

   1. Bot Relogging - Using bots or macros to relog a player or alt into a server after a reboot is not allowed.

Gameplay: The gameplay category covers all rules regarding non-verbal and non-cheating actions.

1. Targeting & Harassment:

   1. Death Trap - Creating a death trap for other players is prohibited. This does not apply to non-player-specific traps or fortifications in PvP-enabled servers. Death Traps that target specific players are prohibited on all servers.

   2. Entrapment - Trapping a player who is AFK, who logged out in a specific location (and will then return to that location on login), or who will teleport to a specific location is prohibited.

   3. Harassment - Verbal and Non-verbal harassment of any kind is prohibited. This specific rule type covers non-verbal harassment. See the chat section for verbal harassment rules.

2. Builds:

   1. Inappropriate Builds - No inappropriate builds will be tolerated. This means no vulgar, abrasive, racist or otherwise inappropriate builds will be tolerated and will be removed at admin’s discretion. No items will be returned if such a build is removed.

3. AFK & Automation:

   1. AFK - Being AFK is not allowed in the server hub. Please see individual server-specific rules to see if being AFK is allowed and what specific AFK actions are allowed or prohibited.

   2. Automated Actions - Performing automated actions such as autoclicking, automated chat or any other similarly-categorized actions are prohibited unless otherwise specified in the server-specific rules.

   3. Automated Mechanics - Some automated mechanics such as various types of redstone items or redstone contraptions may be restricted or prohibited in various sub-servers for balancing and gameplay reasons. Please check with the server-specific rules for any restrictions.

4. Alts: We understand that many players have more than one account (otherwise known as an 'alt'). In some cases, alts are not only allowed on the server, but also provide an allowed benefit to the player in-game. It is important to note that a player’s punishment for breaking a rule will extend to all accounts that player owns. While the punishment will not be explicitly given to each account, any player found using an alt in the following ways will receive further punishment.

   1. Alt Count - Players are allowed to have no more than 2 alts.

   2. Alt Registration - All alts should be ‘registered’ with us for tracking purposes so we can help promote fair competition within our server. This is not currently being enforced but is written for potential use in the future.

   3. Punishment Avoidance - Chat - Talking in chat with another account if the player's account was temporarily or permanently banned.

   4. Punishment Avoidance - Ban - Joining the server with another account if the player's account was temporarily or permanently banned.

5. Griefing & PvP:

   1. Griefing - All forms of griefing are prohibited unless allowed by server-specific rules.

   2. PvP - PvP is prohibited unless allowed by server-specific rules.

All servers are subject to these rules as well as their own set of server-specific rules. Please read the Discord and server-specific rules periodically to stay informed!

1. Footnote: The bold statement at the bottom of the server rules was added as a disclaimer to alert players to the fact that each F2PMC sub-server has its own specific rules in addition to the rules above because each server requires its own rules to uphold our server mission.
